It’s my specialty to take beautiful headshots of people who usually don’t enjoy being photographed. With my patient and easygoing manner, I build a connection with you that allows you to relax and smile from within. Together we will capture portraits that reflect your true character in its most beautiful light.
Having your photo taken can be a stressful experience. Aside from a few exceptions, most people do not enjoy being in front of a camera. I will guide you through the process gently and calmly. With over a decade of experience in portraiture, I have acquired a few tricks and tips that will help you find your inner smile.

How I work
1. before the shoot
It all starts with a simple chat about your specific needs. What do you need the photo for? Your website? Your Linkedin Profile? Your Portfolio? Together, we decide what type of backdrop works best for you. Greenery brings a more personable and approachable feel to it, which is why I love it. However, a classic white backdrop has a lot going for it too. It is a classic professional look. For a more edgy look, we can work with cityscapes, clear lines and reflections in windows. For actor headshots, I like wandering around Brisbane's inner suburbs such as Newstead, or Westend. The most convenient choice for you is to take them to your home/garden. For staff portraits, I will come to your office. I am happy to help you decide what to wear, and you are always welcome to bring a few options with you so that we can see what works best on camera.
2. On the day
What I have always loved about taking portraits is that no single shoot is ever the same. There is no one-size-fits-all recipe to a great headshot. For some, soft natural light works best, for others, a lighting set-up adds a more polished look. All of us humans are so very unique, and so are the photos I take of you. In German, we have a saying, that everyone has a chocolate side. When I take your headshot we will try out different perspectives and poses to find yours. I also have a few tried and tested prompts that will help you find your inner smile. Most of all, my calm and relaxed approach will make you feel at ease and strip you of your possible camera shyness. So that you can be your best and most confident self in front of the camera.
3. receiving your photos
Within two days you will receive your online gallery. Here you can choose your favourite image(s). Once, I have received your choice, I will deliver your edited headshots within two weeks. You will receive a download link with your photograph(s) in high resolution for printing (up to a size of 50x30cm) and in a lower resolution optimised for screens. I recommend downloading and saving your photos as soon as possible and saving them in at least two separate locations (cloud, external drive).
