Why I started Raspberry Photography

Raspberry Photography started with a deep love for storytelling and a desire to do things differently. As a photographer, artist and mother, I wanted to offer an alternative to stiff, posed sessions — something more honest, more playful, and ultimately, more meaningful.

I never set out to become a family photographer. For years I worked in the creative industries, creating visual stories, but it wasn’t until I had kids of my own that I saw the real power of family photos that feel like real life. The quiet in-between moments. The wild ones. The messy, tender, everyday beauty. That’s the kind of photography I was craving — and that’s what Raspberry became.

Why I chose storytelling photography

Raspberry is built on a storytelling photography approach — documentary-style, natural, and completely unposed. It’s not about making families look perfect. It’s about showing them as they truly are, in all their connection, chaos and closeness.

There’s something deeply moving about freezing these fleeting moments in time — the way your toddler clings to your leg, the laughter between siblings, the soft look your partner gives when you’re not looking. These are the memories you’ll want to keep, and they deserve to be captured with care.

This style of natural family photography allows people to relax, play, and just be. And the photos we get from that space? They’re full of feeling. They tell a story. Your story.

What Keeps me going

Running a business while raising two young kids isn’t easy — I work during nap times, late at night, and in every pocket of quiet I can find. But every time someone tells me their photos made them cry, or I see an image from our session hanging proudly in their home, I know it’s worth it.

This work matters. It’s personal. It’s emotional. And it reminds people, especially mothers in the thick of it, that they are seen, valued, and part of something beautiful.
